Resignation or quitting a job is a cause for termination of employment contract by which the employee unilaterally decides to terminate the employment relationship with the employer. The concept of “job for life” is a history. Employee mobility is a fact and is an important part of an employee’s career. So, be prepared for it. Here are some tips on how to say it quits with your current employer and how to do it gracefully.
If you want to give up your current job, one of the tools you should keep in mind is the resignation letter to the HR or manpower division of your company. Ideally, the letter is one page letter, short and concise, that should include the following:
- Mention of the waiver and reasons for it. Along with his intention to resign, you should explain why it goes. It may be a change of residence to another city because the new job is more suited to your preferences or career goals, etc.
- It is imperative to report the date you will stop working on. Usually there is a notification period included in your contract of employment; you should announce your resignation before this period.
